Based 2 hours north of Madagascar's capital city of Antananarivo, the Madagascar School Project welcomed its first students in the fall of 2008.
Funded completely through donations, the 2 classroom Sekoly Lova Soa, which means a school that transmits to children what is needed to make a positive change in the world, is built on a parcel of land donated by a local Anglican parish and is open free of charge to all students.
In an effort to combat childhood malnourishment in the area, the school also has a program to feed the children a noon meal each day. Gardens cared for by the parents provide the meal's fresh vegetables.
The Madagascar School Project Committee is mandated to continue fund raising to enable us to pay for teachers, supplies and the upkeep of the school.
