Feeding Program
People work hard but if you depend on the land, then the months from November to April
are always going to be difficult. Most people do not have land to grow enough rice to
feed the family for the year, yet rice bought in March is twice the price of rice
bought after the harvest in May. Before Lova Soa and the feeding programme there were
perhaps two deaths per year caused by malnutrition in Ambatoharanana and others in the
surrounding villages.

Goals of the Program:
One Laptop Per Child
As with organizations such as the United Nations Commission for Africa, the
Nelson Mandela Children's Fund, and Develop Africa to name a few, the Madagascar
School Project views technology as a tool to help the Malagasy improve the quality
of their lives and fight against poverty.

Two Coincidences and a Vision for the Future
Imagine being the mayor of 3 villages. You love your people
and despair about their future. There is no school. If the
children get enough food and are thus strong enough, they
have to walk for over an hour to get to the closest school.
You've tried for years to finde a sponsor to build a school for
your community but without success. It is so discouraging.
But then you hear of a Canadian who has built a school in
Ambatoharanana.
